Doug's Homepage

Welcome Again!

Just in case you were wondering who I am you are at the right place.

My name is Doug Kasper, that's me on the classic wooden roller coaster Colossus at Magic Mountain.

I was born and raised in Seal Beach, CA. I have two brothers and a sister and my sister has 3 brothers and no sisters. I'm the last of four children. They saved the best for last I always say.

I graduated from Los Alamitos High School in 1989. Having no idea what I was going to do then I ended up at Goldenwest College in Huntington Beach and then transferred to CSULB where I graduated from in 1996. While in school I majored in Business Administration with concentration in Accounting. I also minored in Political Science.

I currently work at the University of Southern California (USC) where I have worked since 1998.

My first love is definetely music and in particular, fast, loud, and aggressive music, otherwise known as Metal. I do listen to other types of music metal will always be my first choice. My parents thought listening to metal was a phase that I would eventually get through and go onto other music. Well it's been going strong for over 20 years now, aren't phases supposed to be short? Music has always been around me from when I was a youngster up until the present day. If it's possible to have music playing when I am doing whatever I will have it on. (Now Playing: No Lights by Overkill). My favorite band is Slayer. Every single metalhead should listen to Reign in Blood AT LEAST once a month.

Just about every week you will find me at one show or another. Future shows I will be at are listed here, shows I've been at in the past (first show ever, Sept 13, 1986) are listed here. All hail Moshking's Southern California Metal Concert Update, I plan my life with it.

During the winter I like to Snowboard, I like to do it in the summer as well but there is no snow then so it's not as fun. I have been riding since about 1996. Compared to any other sport I have participated in snowboarding is by far the best. I do have fun with other sports but this is the only sport that I have been interested in so much to consider it an addiction. I really love the outdoors and especially the mountains so snowboarding gives me the opportunity to combine the freedom of riding and my love of the mountains. It doesn't even bother me when it's freezing cold with blizzard like conditions. I live in the LA area so the resorts around here aren't the best but what can you do. My favorite place to ride is Mammoth Mountain. When in Mammoth I try to make a trip up to June Mountain. Locally I like to ride Snow Valley, Mountain High and Mount Baldy.

Some of the tv shows I currently watch are 24, The Simpsons, CSI Vegas, Miami and New York (Vegas is still the best). Other than that I'll watch the occasional crime (forensic) type show.

I like playing video games on my pc as well. I like first person shooter games the most and have been playing Star Wars Battlefront II and a little bit of F.E.A.R. which is pretty creepy. On occasion I get around to playing varouis games on my Playstation 2. Occasionally you will find me at the gym working out. I usually do weights, some cardio and an ab workout.
